IRLANDE Journée 14 - 7 juin 2012 - Etape à Athlone

Bonsoir a tous,

Journée pluvieuse ce jour sur l'Irlande. La journée s'est déroulée entre une alternance de pluie et de fortes averses, bref, une parfaite journée pour tester ses habits de pluie!!!
Le plus incroyable, c'est que j'ai transporté plus de 4 litres d'eau de pluie dans mes sursacoches qui se sont remplies au fur à mesure de la route... Plein de choses à ajuster.

Sinon rencontre du facteur au départ de Carlow qui chantait dans la rue, nous avons fait un petit brin de causette. Il a voulu m'apprendre quelques mots en gaélique que j'ai déjà oubliés, dilués dans la pluie du jour.

Un autre Irlandais m'a arrêté et m'a demandé si je voulais mettre mon vélo dans son fourgon pour me déposer 20 kms plus loin. Je l'ai remercié. Poignée de main chaleureuse en déclinant son offre.

Rainy day today in Ireland. The day was spent alternating between rain and heavy showers, in short, a perfect day to test your rain gear!
The most incredible thing is that I have carried more than 4 liters of rainwater in my panier covers, which gradually filled with water from underneath . A lot of things need adjusting.
Otherwise I met the postman as I was leaving Carlow who was singing in the street, and we talked for a bit. He wanted me to learn a few words in Gaelic that I have already forgotten, diluted in the day’s rain.

Another Irishman stopped me and asked me if I wanted to put my bike in his van to drop me off 20 miles down the road. I thanked him. We exchanged a warm handshake but I declined his offer.

In Athlone on the River Shannon tonight. I confess: I have not unfolded the tent, I set myself up in the B & B. I know, I'm not a true cyclo camper!
